Yes there are different forms of rape. I think it is important to know the different kinds there is acquaintance rape, stranger rape, marital rape, gang rape, and drug facilitated rape. They are all rape but they deal with who the rapist is.
Acquaintance rape is being raped by someone you know. Which statistics show you are more likely to be raped by someone you know than by a complete stranger. I know this is scary so you need to protect yourself and be aware of your surroundings.
Stranger rape, yep you guessed it is being raped by a stranger. This is less likely to happen than acquaintance rape, however it still does happen.
Marital rape is rape that occurs by your spouse. Yes even married people can get raped by their spouse. A lot of states don’t even consider it rape, however rape is rape so don’t let them make you think otherwise. If you don’t want to have sex and someone makes you do it, its rape, report it even if it is your husband. It is illegal.
Gang rape is rape that happens when a single individual is raped by a gang of people. To me this is very scary. Don’t get me wrong all forms of rape are scary but this includes a group of people ganging up on one individual and raping them.
Then there is drug facilitated rape which is when drugs or alcohol are used to impair and individual’s judgment. This is very common; this can be when you are drunk or are even drugged. And just because you were under the influence of alcohol or drugs doesn’t mean it isn’t rape. It is rape.
Rape doesn’t just happen in a dark alley way, no in fact more rapes take place in the person’s home. Scary huh? Yea it is, so be aware of your surroundings and be cautious as to whom you let in your home. Protect yourself as well; carry mace or a whistle, or even both!!
